Aplication to reviews
Billin is a social platform whose main functionality is sharing opinions with friends, enhanced by elements of gamification and user motivation through rewards. But that’s not all - Billin also serves a valuable purpose for businesses, allowing them to easily attract potential customers.
Billin achieved spectacular success among the reviewer community — in just six months after its launch on the Apple Store and Google Play, it gathered over 720,000 users in Poland. The app quickly gained popularity, becoming the subject of numerous online discussions. Thanks to in-depth UX research, its features perfectly matched real user needs, delivering an intuitive and satisfying experience.
Business Impact
The impact of the Billin app on business proved to be highly significant. With its rapid user growth and strong community engagement, the app became a powerful tool for building trust in brands and products. Companies began using Billin as an opinion-forming platform, allowing them to better understand customer needs and respond to them in real time.
The increased number and credibility of reviews contributed to higher sales and conversion rates among brands present on the platform. Billin also enabled the creation of data-driven marketing strategies, resulting in more effective campaigns and stronger customer relationships. As a result, the app not only streamlined communication between brands and users but also introduced a new standard in online reputation management.
Project Goals
Creating an innovative social review platform that connects users into a community sharing authentic opinions about products and services.
Increasing brand awareness by enabling companies to actively participate in dialogue with their customers.
Building trust between brands and users through a transparent rating system and a reliable source of information.
Providing valuable market data that helps companies better understand the needs and expectations of their audiences.
Facilitating purchasing decisions by giving users access to trustworthy reviews and recommendations based on real experiences.
Introducing a mobile application with high usability and an attractive design — a benchmark of modern UX and UI approaches.
Challenges
Understanding diverse user needs - the application is designed for both users who actively write reviews and those who simply look for opinions before making a purchase, which required finding a balance between simplicity and functionality.
Maintaining content credibility - one of the key challenges was designing the rating and moderation system to ensure that reviews are authentic and trustworthy.
Preserving readability with large amounts of data - the interface needed to present multiple types of information (ratings, comments, photos) in a clear and non-overwhelming way.
Designing an engaging user experience (UX) - it was necessary to create mechanisms that motivate users to actively participate, such as a reward system or personalized recommendations.
Ensuring visual consistency across platforms (iOS and Android) - thedesign had to be both aesthetically and functionally aligned with theprinciples of both systems.
Optimizing application performance - with the growing number of users, it was essential to design an interface that remains fast, responsive, and lightweight.
Conducting UX research and usability testing - this required precise planning to identify real user problems and implement data-driven solutions.

Problem
The app is relatively new on the market, so we were unable to gather all companies in one place or even include every brand in the database right away. At first glance, it seemed impossible.
However, things are different now...
No Problem
Through UX research and a detailed analysis of user journeys, I designed a solution that allows users to easily create company profiles themselves when submitting reviews for businesses that are not yet in the Billin system.

Solutions
I conducted comprehensive UX research, including interviews, usability tests, and behavioral analysis, which allowed me to understand users, identify their needs, and tailor the key features accordingly.
I implemented a simple and intuitive navigation system, based on a clearcard structure and a minimal number of steps needed to add a review or search for opinions.
I designed a consistent and modern visual system, featuring legible typography, a friendly color palette, and recognizable iconography - enhancing both the aesthetics and usability of the interface.
I developed an advanced filtering and sorting system, allowing users to quickly find the most valuable reviews based on ratings, categories, or date.
I introduced personalized recommendations, ensuring that users receive content tailored to their previous activity and interests.
I applied microinteractions — subtle animations and visual effects that enhance the sense of fluidity and satisfaction when using the app or posting a review.
I designed a responsive version that runs smoothly across various devices and operating systems, ensuring a consistent experience.
I also included a dark mode, addressing user preferences and improving comfort in different lighting conditions.

My Role
In this project, I served as a UI/UX Designer, responsible for the entire design process - from identifying user problems to developing the final interface prototype.
At the beginning, I focused on analyzing the current user experience and identifying issues in how reviews were displayed and browsed. I conducted benchmarking and user behavior analysis to understand which elements influence their decisions and comfort when navigating the review section.
Next, I developed the information structure and content architecture to improve navigation logic and intuitiveness. I created user flows, low- and high-fidelity wireframes, and an interactive prototype, which was then used for usability testing.
As a UI designer, I ensured visual consistency and interface aesthetics - I developed the color scheme, typography, and icon system in line with the brand’s guidelines, and prepared components and a style guide to maintain visual consistency in future iterations.
Throughout the process, I collaborated closely with the team (including researchers and developers), testing solutions and making improvements based on user feedback. As a result, the final design is not only visually appealing but also intuitive, functional, and aligned with real user needs.
